Ferrari Scuderia

No motor show is complete without Ferrari. And the Italian marque certainly had heads turning in its direction at the Dubai Motor Show when it unveiled its latest offering, the Scuderia. Here is my own snapshot of the speed car.

The Scuderia draws its inspiration from the F430, but is 100kg lighter than its predecessor. The car is powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 engine that churns out 510bhp at a screaming 8,500rpm. It also features Ferrari's latest F1 software, Superfast, which reduces gear change times to just 60 milliseconds.

Expect to see a few of these lightweight superquick Ferraris on our Dubai roads soon.

a Christmas poem

Christmas Bells

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Till, ringing, singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The Carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
‘There is no peace on earth,’ I said;
‘For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!’

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
‘God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!

Nissan GT-R

Less than a month after its global debut in Tokyo, the Nissan GT-R made its stunning debut at the Dubai Motor Show last week. Take a look at my own snapshot of the beauty.

Deliberately engineered to take on and beat the Porsche, the GTR alreday has a cult following and has been a subject of countless journalists, analysts and spy photographers worldwide. And it seems anyone in Qatar with a driving license has placed an order, as Qatar leads the world in orders for the car.

Nissan says, 2,000 GT-R's have been pre-booked.

Audi Mobile Phone

Remember the car phones in the Eighties? If Audi has things its way, they could soon make a come back.

The Audi Mobile Phone, which is a camera, MP3 Player, GPS system and a car key all rolled into one was unveiled last month at the Tokyo Motor Show. It enables the owner to unlock the car without a key or turn on the sound system or A/C remotely.

The device can also alert car owners in the event of car theft and even transmit a picture of the thief to the phone. The phone teams up with an onboard camera, which snaps pictures when
suspecting the entrance of an intruder, and then wirelessly sends the pictures to the phone. Then, acting like a LoJack, it switches on the car´s tracking device following the car´s location.

The interface, a touch-sensitive screen with only four main softkeys (like an iPhone), can recognize Latin and Japanese characters, and can also decipher handwriting. Perhaps the biggest concern about such a high-tech device is getting used to safely using it—or not using it—while driving.

handwriting secrets

One of the best things about high school was that i can finally get away with print handwriting. Oh i hated the cursive writing in grade school because i make them huge and round and they fill up my notebooks and quiz papers in no time. But even when printing, I am still not proud of my hand writing hihi. They always tease me that it is like written by a first grader hihi.

Anyway, I have always heard that our hand writing reveals a lot about our personality so I decided to take this quiz. Come check out my results.

What Your Handwriting Says About You

You are highly energetic. You are a passionate, intense, vigorous person.

You are somewhat outgoing, but you're not a natural extrovert. You think first before you act. You tend to be independent, rational, and logical.

You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others.

You need a bit of space in your life, but you're not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well.

You are a free thinker. You are unique, open minded, and artistic. You don't care what other people think.

You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous.

Saab Aero X

If you thought Saab cars were boring, think again. Swede dreams are here, doing a lot of work to get rid of its image as a conservative manufacturer.

The highlight at the Saab motor show is the Aero X concept, a two seater sports coupe that goes against the grain of conventional car design. Here take a look of my snapshot with hubby posing around the gorgeous car.

The Saab Areo X adopts fighter jet cues such as the cockpit canopy, which helps give the driver a full 180-degree vision and facilitates entry and exit from its low-slung, pillarless cabin.

plane quick Bugatti Veyron

It's show time!! We finally made it to the 9th Middle East International Motor Show over the weekend. There were around 400 displays of the most exotic, speed racers, hybrid, and latest car models from auto makers worldwide. I took lots of pictures of course, so brace yourself for some motor show entries for the next few days because I will share with you what we only see in a car magazine.

Because the show itself was fantastic, I like to start my entry with a blast by showing you the hottest speed car today as it recently raced against a Eurofighter jet. Yes, my dear readers, we saw the Bugatti Veyron right here in the Dubai. Here is my very own snapshot:

In what was possibly the most exciting and ambitious race ever filmed, the presenter of a famous motoring show in the UK pitted the Bugatti Veyron against the Eurofighter Typhoon jet. Television presenter Richard Hammond, drove the 1,001bhp,407km/h Veyron in a one mile race against the hi-tech plane.

His opponent, the RAF's typhoon display pilot, Flight Lieutenant Jim Walls, flew the jet which can produce 18 tonnes of afterburner thrust and has a top speed at least twice the speed of sound.

Veyron gave the Typhoon a tough fight, but eventually lost out to the multi-role fighter plane.

avoid that flat battery

The most common reason for a vehicle not starting is due to a dead battery. According to statistics, battery problems increase in the UAE's cooler weather. It is most likely to fail on a Sunday morning, after a vehicle has been parked for the weekend. Motorists can avoid a flat battery by following a few tips:

  • Be very careful not to leave your interior light on in your vehicle overnight - this is the most common reason for a flat battery.
  • Ensure your car is serviced before the sooler weather arrives - that is now.
  • If you only drive on short journeys with lights, wipers and A/C blower on, switch them off before turning your engine off. This allows extra charge to go into the battery.
  • A faulty alternator is one of the most common reason for a flat battery. Instead, replace your alternator and then recharge your battery.
  • Be careful if you use jump leads to start your vehicle in an emergency. Putting a pair of jump leads on the wrong way round can damage your alternator.

The Story of Mario Dimaculangan

Microsoft announced that they were looking for someone to head their new office in Eastern Europe and that Bill Gates himself would conduct the screening.

After some preliminary interviews, the "short list" of 5,000 applicants were asked to assemble in the large hall at the Microsoft Headquarters. Bill Gates walked in and thanked all of them for coming.

BILL GATES: Those of you that do not know JAVA, I will have to ask you to please leave.

2,000 of them leave.

MARIO DIMACULANGAN, one of the 5,000 applicants, thinks to himself, "Sure I don't know JAVA but what the heck, I have nothing to lose so I'm staying."

BILL GATES: Candidates that have had no experience managing more than a hundred people, you too may leave.

Another 2,000 leave.

MARIO muses in his head, "Though it is only myself that I have managed all my life, heck, what do I have to lose if I stay?" And again, Mario stays put.

BILL GATES: Those without a Masters Degree, Adios!

MARIO, a high school drop-out, figures that if he stays, he still will have nothing to lose. So, he decides not to budge while another 500 pass him by on their way out.

BILL GATES: Lastly, those not fluent in the Serbo-Croat language, thank you for coming. Please leave.

498 more walk out leaving only two candidates with Bill Gates.

MARIO, after telling himself, "Even if I do not know a single word in Serbo-Croat, the fact remains that I still will not lose anything by staying," finds himself with just one other applicant.

At this point Bill Gates asks them both to come together beside him and says: "Very good! Apparently, only both of you from among the lot can speak Serbo-Croat. Now, if you please, gentlemen, I'd like to hear both of you converse in that language."

MARIO very calmly turns to the other remaining applicant and with a smile, says: "Ano ba yan, dong?"

The other one answers, "Ewan ko, pare."

car quotes on CarsBlvd.com

What a great news! Hubby said we are ready to buy our second car now. Sure we love our Toyota Fortuner but sometimes when we go to church or to some place or events where people flock causing a limited parking space, it is very hard to find enough place for our SUV. So we are thinking of a second smaller car.

I am really excited about it and can't wait to smell a new car again but I am not so thrilled hopping from one car dealer to another and ask for price quotes. It is extremely exhausting and can be a waste of time that I am so glad I found out about CarsBlvd.com. The website gives you car quotes on any brand and model of your choice.

Everybody is talking about the new 2008 Honda Accord so I have my heart set on Honda cars. I think the sun roof is very appealing. So I visit CarsBlv.com for Honda car prices, give the year and the model and I was immediately given two Honda car quotes absolutely for free! Isn't that great? The website is very, very helpful and user friendly.

So for all car enthusiasts out there, indulge on your hobby without the headache from car dealers. Visit CarsBlvd.com today!

mini roof start

You can always count on Mini to come up with innovative ways to customise your car's appreance. And the latest fad among Mini owners seems to be a roof design program that can be accessed at www.mini.com/roof-designer.

The "Mini Roof designer" offers Mini owners plenty of opportunities for personalising the roof of their car. It allows users to access a virtual parking area, where 90 existing roof designs are available as a source of inspiration.

Users can start with a choice of good body and roof colour, and then a 3D design machine allows them to create personalised roof design. The design then can be ordered online and a roof transfer delivered through the nearest Mini dealer.

Hmmn, a safari look is exotic so i will go for the tiger print roof. Which one is yours, baby?

My Life Experience

I received this taggie from the beautiful Anne. Let's see how much life experience do i have...

You've Experienced 52% of Life

You have a good deal of life experience, about as much as someone in their late 20s.
You've seen and done enough to be quite wise, but you still have a lot of life to look forward to.
How Much Life Experience Do You Have?

Woohoh. Fair enough, I guess. Living wise is so much about learning every day's life lessons. Jerry Seinfeld once said, the greatest revenge is to live well. We've all had risen up to life's challenges and to live well despite and inspite of it all can be a great personal achievement. Thank you, Anne for this taggie.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank my Ceasar for being a wonderful husband and provider. You have given me such a good life, darling, I can never thank you enough. I love you and thank you for being very, very patient.

Christmas Shopping!!

UK Pay Day Loans

'Tis the gift giving season again and malls are ripe with shopping sales. Have you started with your list of gifts to give? Or you are still having a hard time budgeting to cover all the gifts for the names on your list? I was out malling with my friend Sasha yesterday and she just sighed of frustration when she saw that Debenhams was having a 3-day sale. It could have been a perfect time to pick the gifts for her family and friends and officemates.

Good thing that I can help Sasha now because I came accross with a website called RobertBridgeFinancial.com which aims to help solve our short-term cash needs. It offers pay day loans and cash advance - bridging those times when we sorely need cash but pay day is still a week away. This way, you can still cover your emergency, unexpected, and other unforseen (like my friend's dilemma) costs until you receive your pay check.

Pay Day Loan application is easy. As long as you have a job, a national insurance number and a bank acount, you can apply for a salary advance. RobertsBridgeFinancial.com will connect you with a lender and you can have a cash advance of £80 to £750. The lender will determine the amount you can borrow based on the information you provided, all that simple.

Some lender may require credit check but all of these payday lenders will not require a collateral. All they need is your electronic signature. If your cash advance is approved on the day you filed you application, the money will be deposited within 24 hours in your bank account. So visit their website now and put an end to your cash dilemma. Click the button below!

addiction treatment on DrugRehab.net

If you are thinking of ways to help treat your loved one's drug addiction, the first thing you should consider when thinking of a drug addiction treatment center is the success rate of its graduates. Next important thing would be, in case of relapse, does the treatment center care at all?

These two things are offered by one of the most established and oldest treatment center in the United States called the Norconon DrugRehab.net. It prides of a 76% success rate backed by a guarantee that any relapse occurs within the sixth months of discharge will be readmitted at no cost.

Relapse is primarily caused by the abused substance residue in the body. These residues trigger the cravings and the depression. So that DrugRehab.net offers a sauna program that effectively eliminates these residues. The students of the rehabilitation center follow a regimen of medically supervised exercise, nutritional supplements, and sweating in a dry sauna. Thus you can be assured that this 30-acre campus is made appropriate for healing and inside is a drug free rehab.

Another great offer from DrugRehab.net is a free consultation with their knowledgeable drug counselors. You can visit their website and fill in the simple form or you can call their toll free hotline number and speak directly to them.

Don't let drugs ruin you or your family. Visit their website now and receive the best drug treatment and intervention!

poem on a Sunday morning

I am having one of those pregnancy blues so i decided to surf the net for some inspiration. I found this beautiful poem and i thought i would share it with everybody this Sunday morning.

Guarding Angel

When times are hard, were feeling low,
We don't know where we want to go
It's time we need to know.

An Angel to guide you on your way
An Angel to brighten your day

When you need an uplifting thought
A hand to hold or to hug a lot

An Angel to sit with you awhile
An Angel to make you smile

Our Angel knows our dented soul.
The friend comes from an unknown source
And soon we feel complete once more.

An Angel to encourage and guide
An Angel to stay by your side.

Happy Thanksgiving!

how to buy

Good evening everyone. I feel tired after cooking the food we will bring tomorrow at Creek Park. We are going with some friends but hubby and i decided to go early and eat our breakfast at the park. I made some pancakes, so we can roll it with bacon and cheese tomorrow morning. Before I bid everyone good night, I will share another buying tip on external hard disk. It is among hubby's favorite technology. He never leaves home without his Merlin.

When buying a external hard disk, remember these three things:

1. How much capacity you need is up to you, but remember storage is a bit like money: it's difficult to have too much of it and it can go a lot quicker than you think. The best bet is to work how much you need and then double that figure. A big task like backing up your PC h
ard drive could take 120GB. Capacities on an external hard disk will start from 20GB.

2. You may just want to move files around quickly and are looking for a removable storage device. If you want to send files to other people, you need to make sure that your device uses a format that other PCs will be able to read.

3. The interface will vary depending on what product you use. Firewire or USB 2.0 will give you the best performance, though make sure your PC is compatible.

I must go now. Till next entry!! Sweet dreams everyone and have a good Friday!
